Sacramental Programme for
First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion

This year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all our Sacramental programs have had to be cancelled. There will be further information when everything settles down again. Please watch this page or be guided by the information in the Parish Bulletin which is on this website each week.

When schools return to normal and we are able to hold the Sacramental programs again, the teachers in our Parish Primary Schools or the State School Catechists will be able to provide the information as it becomes available.

Fr Yacub.

Children in Year 3 prepare for their First Reconciliation during Term 1.
First Holy Communion follows the receipt of the Sacrament of Reconciliation usually in Term 3.

The Sacramental Programme commences with a Parent Information Night, followed by a Commitment Mass on the weekend. The children attend four Lessons of Preparations for First Reconciliation and four Lessons for First Holy Communion, respectively.  Following the First Holy Communion Masses, a Thanksgiving Mass may be celebrated depending on the numbers for First Holy Communion.

Enrolment forms for the Sacramental Programme are available at the Parent Information Night.

Sacramental Programme for Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated by the children, usually in Years 5 or Year 6, after they have received their First Holy Communion, Confirmations are held every two years in the even years.  We will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation when new dates are given to us by the Cathedral, hopefully in 2021.

Following a Parent Information Night during the week and a Commitment Mass on the weekend, the children will attend four Lessons of Preparations for Confirmation on Sunday mornings.
